| I am a moderate on abortion. I believe in being responsible for your actions and do not believe abortion should be used as a crutch for irresponsible people. However, in circumstances like rape and medical complications I am not opposed to abortions. I would also rather not see more starving, neglected, or abused children due to banning abortions completely. I also think the state should be able to regulate abortions, especially during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. In regards to funding, I believe in small government and therefore tax money should not be funding many of these non-profit programs. | |||

| I don't have a significant problem with the idea of promoting common standards due to our national and international economy. All children should learn the same math, science, English etc. However, the current system is flawed and Constitutionally education is not a federal issue. It is supposed to be left to the states. I don't support state funding of charter schools because the state should focus on fixing the public education system. Also, illegal immigrants should not even be admitted to college, let alone get in state tuition. | |||

| I don't believe the government should be actively subsidizing the energy sector, whether it be renewable or fossil fuels. I support open space preservation as long as it does not hurt the local communities like it did in Sussex County. We need to preserve some land, but it must be reasonable. Lastly, I support some regulation of greenhouse gases, but only from motor vehicles and large factories. Some regulation promotes efficiency and a cleaner environment. Over regulation just hurts the economy. | |||

| I oppose the NJ magazine capacity restriction, and the "assault weapons" ban. They are arbitrary and do not reduce crime. I believe NJ should become a shall issue concealed carry state, as long as a person demonstrates safe handling and proficiency with a firearm. Every law abiding citizen deserves the fundamental right to protect themselves. Also, NICS checks are already required at gun shows, so no other background check should be required. | |||

| I would support a national healthcare system if the government was capable of running it properly. However, the VA scandal proves they are not able to. Healthcare shouldn't be a money making business like it is today though. Insurance companies and healthcare providers need to make patient care the number one priority. Also, health insurance companies should be able to sell insurance across state lines to create more competition and fairer rates to customers. | |||

| My priority is to actually represent the people of my district. I want to bring accountability to Trenton and work for the people, rather than for myself or special interests like many current politicians do. I also want to cut the waste and bureaucracy that is making NJ residents leave for better opportunities in other states. Our tax burden must be significantly reduced, and government needs to get out of our every day lives. Repealing NJ's draconian gun laws is another priority, because currently only criminals are allowed to carry firearms. Thank you for reading this and being informed voters. |
